Lace Swatches

These are two lace swatches I found on google images as I was unable to find any appropriate ones in magazines or in the trend hub. I like these as they are feminine and original.

I like the dusty pink colour of this swatch, it contrasts nicely to an opaque black.














I like the metallic yarns running through this swatch, it could work well as a dress.

A feminine lace. I like this as it is black and gothic, but the flower pattern, suggests a very feminine look.

A sheen silk. This fabric would drape well for a dress.

















A water mark silk taffeta
I like the pattern within the fabric. Also taffeta is a popular fabric to make party dresses with.

'Origami'

This swatch is exciting because of the fabric manipulation, the fabric has been played with to get different shapes and textures. The different textures of the fabric compliment each other rather than using different colours. The shades of grey and black are perfect for a dark gothic theme.

The tones of colour remind me of autumn leaves, I also think the swatches of fabric look of very good quality. I like the tones in colour and the way they all compliment each other

Swatches

I like the bright colours and party dresses that often appear in the Autumn/winter season. I could use these ideas as clothes for my board.

Scanning

As the role of designer , I have to design a collection of clothing for 'Dorothy Perkins' I have to gain inspiration from resources in order to design my collection. A designeer could gain this from magazines, nature, architecture etc. Here I have scanned some images from magazines that inspire me in how I want my collection to look.




I like the idea of making a 'dark' collection with fabrics such as lace and chiffons. Therefore my collection would be best suited to an Autumn/winter season. These ae fashion images and clothing that inspire me to create this kind of collection.

As a store designer I would interpret key trends from the catwalk into my own collection. Pradas Autumn WInter 08/09 collection inspires me with the use of lace and dark gothic colours.
